Uzumaki Spiral into Horror

Uzumaki Spiral into Horror anime is based on the Japanese horror manga series of the same name written and illustrated by Junji Itou. This anime television series spanning four episodes was revealed during the 2019 Crunchyroll Expo. When Adult Swim announced an anime adaptation of Uzumaki, fans were both excited and concerned. The anime experienced several delays, leaving fans wondering if it would ever be published.

The anime follows the residents of Kurouzu-cho, a fictional town plagued by a mystical curse involving spirals. The story for Uzumaki began when Ito sought to write a story about people living in an extremely long terraced house and was inspired to utilize a spiral shape to achieve the required length.

Ito argues that the horror of Uzumaki is powerful because it subverts symbols that are positively portrayed in Japanese culture, as well as its theme of protagonists striving against a mysterious force greater than themselves.

Where to watch and Release date
