Campfire Cooking in Another World

Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill Review is an adventurous isekei anime that is all about cooking coupled with adventure, comedy, and a whole lot of magic. It follows the story of an ordinary worker, Mukohda, who possesses an absurd skill of online grocery, and his two powerful yet adorable familiars—Fel, a legendary Fenrir blessed by Goddess Nirnir, and Sui, a baby slime. The series is available to stream on Netflix and Jiocinema.

From the very first episode itself, we get a clear picture of the protagonist, Mukohda, who is a timid and lazy guy who hates being in any field of dangerous work. Even though at the beginning we find the protagonist as a coward hero, he soon captures the heart of the audience with his excellent cooking skills and his beloved familiars – Fel and Sui.

Fel is a legendary Fenrir, a monster feared by all. Yet his gluttonous behavior and cravings for Japanese cuisine make him adorable. His character is vivid. Just as he devours the food made by Mukohda, he proves himself to be more powerful, talented, and kind. His concerns for Mukohda show the humanity inside this legendary monster. Also, the way Fel treats Sui melts the hearts of the viewers.

Sui was just three days old when he came to Mukohda. This tiny and cute creature devours anything he sees. He cleans the surroundings and eats up all waste – including plastic. Everything he eats helps him evolve and grow.

The man-made waste like plastic gives Sui the power of poison, and he saves the naïve Mukohda from many dangers. Slowly, Sui gains healing power and begins to talk. The moment Sui starts to talk the charm of the characters doubles, making everyone fall in love with him.

The four goddesses add details of humor to the anime. Nirnir’s love for sweets and snacks, Agni’s domineering demands for alcohol, Kisharle’s bossiness, and Rusalka’s shy yet assertive personality make the story more enjoyable.

Delightful Journey of Adventure, Friendships, and Delicious Food

Campfire Cooking in Another World makes your mouth water and your heart full. The journey of adventure and the friendships formed along the way are even more delightful when accompanied by the delicious food that plays a central role in the story.

Mukohda, the culinary genius, brings a feeling of warmth and comfort as he shares his dishes and skills with those around him. The added element of danger and mystery adds an additional coating of excitement to the anime.

It is not just an anime, it’s a journey for your senses, where the allure of food is at the vanguard and will keep the viewers enthralled and desiring more.

This anime gives a fun experience to the viewer, something they could watch and get done in a day or two, or something. Of course, the art is beautiful and calming. MAPPA did a brilliant job in animation.

It gives a similar vibe to Bofuri with regard to adventure and art-wise. The animation technique is not only dreamy but also visually astonishing, bringing the dishes to life in a way that will make you want to taste them the very instant.

One of the flaws in the anime that is discussed among the fans is related to the character of Mukohda. The recipes are interesting, and the majority of the characters are mostly interesting. But the main character seems quite bland. Moreover, his only visible quality is that he is a coward. And he hails it caution, but it’s actually not. And it often makes him excluded from the fun part.

Verdict

Overall, the entire story of Campfire Cooking in Another World is interesting with lovable characters and fine animation by MAPPA. The cast has also done a brilliant job of giving the perfect essence to the characters through their voice. The cute characters, engaging plot, stunning animation, and hilarious humor make the anime a must-watch. If you’re a seasoned otaku or casual viewer, Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill will sweep you away with its allure.
